  • M=Maximum Semesters Exceeded

    The policy permits the following:

    • Six semesters ~ Associate Degree
    • Twelve semesters ~ Baccalaureate Degree
    • Six semesters ~ Graduate Degree

If you are graduating from an undergraduate program and are admitted into graduate program beginning with the previous summer of the upcoming academic year, you must contact our office regarding financial aid eligibility.  If you wish to appeal, you must follow the Financial Aid appeal procedures.

  • N=Completion Rate (short credit hours completed)--You did not complete all the hours you started with. The credits you are short must be earned (made up) before you can be considered for further funding on the federal and state financial aid programs. If you complete the required number of credit hours, it is your responsibility to notify our office, provide a copy of all grade reports, and follow the Financial Aid appeal procedures.

  • W=Withdrawal Count Exceeded--The policy states if you have more than two (2) official academic and/or administrative withdrawals while attending Murray State University, you will no longer be considered as maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress. If you wish to appeal, you must follow the Financial Aid appeal procedures.
